My Story
I qualified from Trinity College with an honours BSc in Physiotherapy in 1995. Having worked in Dublin, London and Australia I moved back to Dublin in 1999 and set up my own practice in 2000.
With the demands of family life, I closed my practice in 2005 and returned to work in the HSE, first as a Senior Physiotherapist and then as Physiotherapy Manager.
I have over 30 years of clinical experience in the rehabilitation & empowering of clients post joint replacement, specialising in pre and post operative hip & knee replacement, general surgery, falls prevention and exercises for the older person.
I am a member of the ISCP & CORU registered.
Treatment sessions are covered by all major healthcare providers including VHI, Laya Healthcare and Irish Life Health

Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy) is committed to protecting all personal patient data collected during any interaction we have with our clients.
This notice sets out the types of data we collect, store, use and/or shared (process) your personal information when you use our service, including our website and any other interactions you might have with our business.
All personal data we gather will be processed in accordance with all applicable data protection laws. If you do not agree with any of our policies and/or practices, we kindly ask that you refrain from using our services.
What type of information do we collect:
As a healthcare provider we collect certain data from you to meet mandatory requirements regarding medical notes. Data collected includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, date of birth, medical conditions, past treatments, GP, scans & test results, home & family circumstances and any other necessary information..
Why do we collect this information:
We collect your data in order to understand your individual needs, to help improve the quality of the services we provide, and to assist in the administration of our businesses to provide you with an effective service.
How do we process your information:
We use your personal data to assist with the administration of your treatment under our care. To schedule/change/remind you of appointments and for the purpose of invoicing and/or billing.
Sometimes we may need to request or share information relating to our clients with other healthcare providers, such as (but not limited to) hospitals, consultants, G.P.’s, other healthcare workers and pharmacies.
Please note that we will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
We may however, use your personal information to send you information about third parties which we think you may find interesting.
Who do we share information with:
There are a number of circumstances in which we may share personal data with other people outside of Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy). Usually this is in connection with your care, or when you have requested that we share your data with a third party.
Such parties may include, but are not limited to, any other medical personnel such as a G.P. or hospital consultant involved in your care. A Public health nurse or other healthcare professional who may be involved in your care. Any statutory bodies or health boards that we are obliged to share day with. Any legal parties requested by our clients, or other legal entities that we are obliged under EU or Irish law to share data with. Any person, or persons, such as family or friends that you have given us permission to share your data with. . Generally, this includes your representatives, our representatives, and some pre-advised third parties.
To your next of kin, ambulance services and An Garda in the case of emergency, or where you are not in a position to grant permission.
Any business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors who operate as a processor on our behalf for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you. Such as our IT system providers, our payment service providers, our recruitment service providers.
Your healthcare provider or any party working for or with them, for the purpose of invoicing and covering the cost of your treatment.
How Do We Protect It:
We take your privacy seriously and take all reasonable steps to ensure the protection of your data. We ensure to the best of our knowledge, that all of our third-party partners who handle your information comply with Irish data protection laws and that they protect your information to the same extent that we do. We only disclose personal information which is necessary for them to provide the service they are undertaking on our behalf.
How long do we keep your information:
We only keep your information for as long as it is deemed necessary and for the purpose for which it was originally obtained. There is a legal requirement to keep medical notes for a period of time after treatment. This can vary in length depending on your age and ability to consent, but will be for a minimum of 7 years. Your details will be destroyed after this period.
In some instances, the timeline needed to retain medical information will be defined based on the individual circumstance of each client. Please note that the medical data we process will be disposed of securely in accordance with Irish & EU guidelines when it has reached the end of its legal retention period and is no longer required.
What are your rights:
You have the right to access, restrict, rectify, right to portability, the right to object and the right not to be subject to Automated Decision-Making Profiling of your data at any time.
The easiest way to exercise your rights is to submit a data subject request, or by contacting us directly. On receipt of a valid request to invoke one of these rights, we will do our best to adhere to your request as promptly and as reasonably as possible, however, restrictions may apply in certain situations.

Terms & Conditions
Terms & Conditions Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy)
This policy outlines the terms and conditions of Paula Glynn (physiotherapy). Prior to any Assessment, or Treatment on our part, We, any representative of Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy) will require you, the client to read and agree to our Privacy Policy, and Terms & Conditions as outlined below. If you have any concerns regarding either of these documents, please discuss them with us before entering into a contract with us.
At your request we will perform an initial assessment on you before we provide any Services. This is to assess your needs and to get a clear indicator of your expectations.
We will require you to sign a Consent Form prior to engaging in our initial assessment. The initial assessment will take approximately 60 minutes and will involve us taking a detailed medical history about your past medical history and what your current issues are.
Once the initial assessment is complete, we will agree and commence a course of treatment with you.
Please note that we cannot offer any guarantees with our service, however, we will strive to do our upmost to help improve your mobility & to alleviate your symptoms.
Right to Refuse Service:
Please note that after the Initial Assessment has been carried out, we may decide that we cannot provide you with any services say for example, that the treatment for the condition may not be appropriate, our it may be outside the limitations of our care.
If for any reason on your part you withdraw from treatment with us, or there is a significant time lapse between treatment sessions, we will need a reassurance on your part that there has been no change to your initial assessment. Failing this, we may need to complete another initial assessment prior to any future treatment being agreed between both parties.
Scheduling & Cancellations:
We will covey and agree with you, our fees for the initial and subsequent sessions in advance of any treatment or assessment on our part.
If for any reason you cancel a session with less than 24 hours’ notice, then you will be liable to pay for the session.
If you arrive late, or need to cut a session short for any reason, you will also be liable for the full cost of the session.
Payments:
We accept cash, Revolut or all major credit cards. Payment must be made either in advance of the treatment session, or at the time of the consultation.
Patient’s Rights & Responsibilities:
If we feel that you are acting in an improper manner, either physically, emotionally or psychologically we may need to stop the session. In this event you may be liable to cover the cost of the session, unless there is a reasonable excuse for your behaviour.
We reserve the right to stop a session at any point, and cease any future sessions/treatment if we feel that you are not engaging in a safe manner with the treatment programme outlined by us. Any monies paid towards future sessions will be refunded to you in full.

Please note that the level of progress that you achieve will depend on you following the instructions that we give you.
Confidentiality:
All data collected by Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy) is covered by our Privacy Policy. Please take the time to read our policy prior to entering into a contract with us. Please note that we take the utmost care to guard the personal & sensitive data collected by us following the guidelines of the GDPR of Ireland.
General Conditions:
The terms and conditions contained in this policy, in our privacy policy, and any and all liability on our part is governed under the sole jurisdiction of Irish law.
Any treatment materials given to a client, be they exercises sheets, or equipment is intended for the sole use of that client. The materials should not be reproduced, shared or given to other parties other than those for whom the materials were intended.
The information published on our website is to provide information to our clients, future clients and visitors only.
All rights to any material used on our website is retained by Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy). No person, business or company should copy or link themselves to our website, post a link to our website, or use a link to our website for any reason, including their own gain, or any other promotional or malicious purpose.
Although we try our utmost to ensure that all information is correct, from time to time some errors may occur. Likewise, we cannot warrant in any way that our website, or any links attached to it are virus free. Users of our website are responsible for their own virus protection.
Liability:
Our liability to compensate you for any loss or damage (in the case of loss or damage other than death or personal injury) is limited to a reasonable amount (and not exceeding the amount you pay in total for the Services).
This clause will survive the termination of the contract.
You agree that you will indemnify us against any and all loss or damage suffered, including any legal fees or costs, as a result of any breach of this agreement by you.
Recording:
The recording, or partial recording of any part of a session by you, the client, another family member, or by Paula Glynn (Physiotherapy) must be agreed verbally at the start of each individual session. Agreement from any previous sessions are only valid for that particular session.
